Eyeliner And Lash Enhancement
Humans have more than 200 eyelashes in each of their eye lids and they are shed every 3-5 months. We have at least 2-4 rows of eyelashes on our eyelids and eyeliner is usually applied in-between these rows of lashes. Sometimes these lashes are sparse and need to be filled in with coloured eye lines.
There are two types of eyeliner applications, lash enhancement and traditional eyeliner. This process is accomplished by inserting a series of coloured implants into the lash line.
Lash Enhancement – Applied on either a man or a woman. It is a series of single implants between the lashes. A lash enhancement is subtle, using a complimentary colour to the eyelashes. It is applied to every second or third lash, and is implanted directly into the lash line to create a thicker lash line. If your technician uses a colour that is too dark, your final result will appear as small “connect-the-dots’ in the lash line. Using complimentary colors enhances the lash line and is a great procedure for men or for women.
Traditional Eyeliner – Applied with a thicker line of implants. Traditional eyeliner is thicker and heavier than a lash enhancement. You can choose colours from a taupe, brown, dark brown, brown black, black, blue, green or plum.
Depending on the person’s discomfort level, the anesthesia time could take longer than the procedure time. Total time of the procedure is approximately one and a half hours. We make the procedure as comfortable as possible by using Magic anesthesia. Our clients are comfortable and relaxed as we perform their procedures…because of the Magic.
The benefits are looking great 24/7.If you are in a hurry and do not have time for traditional makeup, you will look great waking up and going right out the door. Permanent eyeliner can look natural to accent your eyes, or be a bit heavier. Men and women have this procedure performed to achieve the look of fullness and thickness of sparse lashes. Having eyeliner or lash enhancement will save you time and money while looking great!
The finished product will be a beautiful lash line with definition of eyeliner that will not rub off or come off during swimming, showers, or tears.
Recovery time depends on the individual. We only need to go over the area once or twice to insert the pigment into the dermal layer of tissue. This keeps swelling to a minimum and your ‘down time’ is minimal. Your eyeliner or lash enhancement should be healed in 3-7 days; however, your colour will not be totally healed in the dermal layer for 30-45 days. A colour refresher should be scheduled 4-6 weeks post procedure to fine tune any colour inconsistencies.
For allergy sufferers, ask your physician about the use of an antihistamine prior to your procedure. This will help the technician with your minimal tearing but will also keep your eye swelling down as well.
Clients should have someone drive them to and from their eyeliner procedure.
Some clients ask their physician for some type of anti-anxiety medication to take prior to the procedure. You must be able to hold totally still in order for the technician to insert clean, straight pigment lines. Being relaxed is imperative for successful results. Meditation works well to help the client be relaxed and the use of homeopathic remedies calms ones nervousness as well.
The approximate cost for an eyeliner procedure is between $395.00 to $1,000.00, depending on the thickness of the line of pigment that is implanted, and whether or not both the top and bottom lines are implanted.
It is in your best interest NOT to wear mascara until the procedure area has completely healed. When you resume the use of mascara be sure to use a new tube. Flakes of mascara could possibly infect the eye if there is any bacteria in your old tube.
Do not use glued on lashes, perm or tint your lashes until the procedure area is completely healed.
How long your procedure lasts will depend on how you take care of your procedure immediately following the initial application and any colour refreshers. Using glycolic acids, or any other AHA’s in your skin care products, will lighten your procedure area. You will also need to apply a total sun block on your face to keep your procedure colour protected and reduce fading. Follow our ‘Home Care’ for fantastic results.
Depending on your general health, medications and skin care regime, you can expect your eyeliner procedure to last for years. However, we strongly suggest a colour refresher as needed to keep your colour perfect.
